Personal Growth why is it so important? When you were born, your brain was open to learning about this world into which had arrived. The number of skills you possessed was limited to those you learnt in utero. So you spent your early years gaining points of reference about what you were experiencing. The challenge with that was you accrued a lot of labels that enabled you to understand this world, you stop experiencing and simply used labels to define your world.
Why Personal Growth is important is purely a matter of a fulfilled life. If you imagine going through your life, observing life and not experiencing the living of your life – not feeling the warm of the sun on your face first thing in the morning, not experiencing a sexual orgasm, not luxuriating in the embrace of your loved ones. To fully experience these is to fully come alive which is Personal Growth.
You weren’t born with a manual on how to live your best life and your parents never had one either. Nor do they have a how to book to assist you in being prepared for the learning experience that life is. From the moment you arrived on the planet you were hungry to learn what and who you were surround by. This was Personal Growth of your early years. We eventually arrive at a state of mind where we think we know it all – maybe between 7and 14. Then our openness to learn more tends to decrease UNTIL we wake up to how much more life can be.
Personal Growth then becomes a lifelong journey of staying awake, learning new skills, new feelings and embracing the incredible nature of human beings, life and all that encompasses. That is what Personal Growth is all about, it’s about embracing all that life has to offer and not becoming a know it all.
